"The kit was okay. There is one think that I would correct right away. The jaws of the pony are terrible. 1) they don't meet evenly, 2) they don't clamp thin (4 oz. , doubled over) hardly at all, 3) they don't open wide enough to clamp thicker leather without making marks, and 4) every one that you see in use, including videos produced by Weaver there is protective leather attached to the jaws - why not sell them like that to begin with. The rest of the kit is fine."
"This kit is a lot cheaper than getting the individual tools separately, and it has all the basic tools you need to get started hand stitching leather. I added some leather padding to the jaws of the stitching pony so the corners don’t gouge the leather. It’s nice that it comes with the straight punch set, instead of the diamond one. the straight stitch lines look really nice and professional"

"This is a really nice hand stitching kit. It has everything that you need to get going on small scale hand stitching and the price is quite reasonable. Weaver has lots of goodies for all levels of work and skill, but this kit is one of their best bangs for the buck."
